Let Go, Forget the Past, but not All of It

Did you ever do something really stupid and then come to regret it? It could be in any area of life including spiritual, criminal, physical, sexual or even causing another physical harm. If you said no to this question then you must be Jesus Christ. He is the only person I know of that has never made a mistake.

The past can tend to come up and inhale your head. How you handle your own mind determines whether you forget the negative past or hold onto it.

Let’s begin by looking at an example of someone who is continuously reminded of his failures. Alex Rodriquez of the New York Yankees has consistently had problems when it comes to the post season. He will be a tremendous hitter through out the year, but as soon as the playoffs begin he can’t hit. The media constantly reminds him of how poorly he hits when October arrives. To have someone constantly remind you of failure can be detrimental to the believing of any individual. Winners are able to focus on the positive in spite of the negative reminders. Back to Alex. As of this writing Alex is having a tremendous post season. Why is he doing better than previous years? I don’t know if the injury to his hip helped to get him more relaxed and focused? Perhaps he read Joe Torre’s book and comments about himself and decided to change his life. Whatever happened I don’t know, I just know that he’s changed  his mindset. He seems more relaxed about playing in the post season. He’s no longer just about Alex he’s more about team. In a recent interview he said that there were 5 guys he looked up to. Guys who had been to the playoffs before whose example he followed. The past is the past if it’s negative it needs to be forgotten. Alex seems to have done that. In fact Espn recently called him the new Mr. October. That’s a reference that was never given to Alex Rodriquez until he forgot the past and focused on what he does best, hit the baseball out of the park.

There are two men in the Bible  that made huge mistakes and went through majoring grieving because of those errors. They are Peter and Judas. Let’s look at the lives of these two men and see what happened to them to cause this grief. We’ll also look at what they did with their minds after they made the mistake.

It’s well known that Judas betrayed Jesus Christ, and turned him over to the authorities. This major mistake would cause Judas his life. Judas at one point was a great believer who saw and performed signs miracles and wonders as one of the twelve apostles.

Luke 9:1-6 1Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. 2And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick. 3And he said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor scrip, neither bread, neither money; neither have two coats apiece. 4And whatsoever house ye enter into, there abide, and thence depart. 5And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them. 6And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where.

At one point Judas was right in there healing people and and doing the Will of God. Once the betrayal came Judas quickly realized the error he made and took the blood money he made and cast it down at the chief priests feet.

Matthew 27: 3-5 Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, 4Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.5And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.

Judas did not hang himself (impale himself on a stake) right away he stayed around for a while. Remember, Jesus when he was resurrected was seen of the twelve, of which Thomas was the one who was not present. Judas was still present. What conversations he had with Jesus Christ and the other disciples at the time no one knows, and the Word doesn’t say. I believe he would not have been in the group if he was not forgiven. Thats right God forgave Judas for the evil that the devil put on Judas heart. Judas was obviously full of remorse he cast the blood money that he earned at the feet of the high priests.  Judas would have  been there on the day of pentecost recieving the gift of holy spirit if he did not commit suicide.

Judas was never able to forget the past. It was to much for him to handle realizing that he was the reason God’s only son was put to death. His mind must have been full of turmoil and emotion. He needed to replace these horrible emotional feelings with the promises God has in his Word. Remember when God forgives he remembers it no more and it is cast as far as the east is from the west. There are promises Judas could have claimed to help over come his major mistake. He could have gone to the old testament and looked at the life of David who was a man after God’s own heart. Even after having a man put to death to get to Bathsheba, David was able to come back to God. Judas could have studied his life, read the Psalms he wrote changed his mind, and gotten born again on the day of pentecost.  Remember I said we want to forget the past but not all of it. Judas also could have gone in his mind to the good things he did for God. The Word he had spoken when he was sent out by Jesus with the other eleven.  He could have remembered the healing of different individuals on this journey.   Keeping the victories and God’s deliverance in his mind would have helped him overcome the negative thoughts. Judas had to be a person of great quality or God never would have had Jesus Christ pick him in the first place. Judas allowed his emotions to overwelm him which eventually opened him up to be driven to suicide.

Peter on the hand was able to overcome the mistake he made.  Remember he denied the Lord Jesus six times. Then went into major grief for doing what he said he would not do.

Matthew 26:74-75  Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew. And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.

Peter was deeply upset at denying Jesus and wept bitterly at what he had done.  It’s what Peter did with his mind afterwards that is important. Denying your Lord and savior is a big deal and had to be hard for Peter to overcome.
He obviously made the change because on the day of Pentecost he boldly spoke in tongues, and confronted the naysayers with the truth. He changed his mind and eliminated any fears. He went from being behind closed doors in the Gospels to boldly confronting those responible for the death of Jesus Christ.

It’s all what you do with your mind after you make a mistake that counts. Peter was able to go to the Word of God and change his thinking. He most likely remembered the different things God had done for him. Perhaps he read some Psalms I don’t know.  I just know he overcame his grief  and moved on with his life.

What about you? What do you want to overcome? Deliverance is available to those who desire it. All it takes is lining your thinking up with what God thinks about you.  Remember all things whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer believing you shall recieve. Matthew 21:22

Psalm 139:14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

We are wonderfully made don’t ever forget that. See there are certain things God wants you to remember. He wants you to remember how wonderfully he made you. He wants you to remember all the things he has done for you. So when your brain tries to rise up and inhale your head, you  have His Word to chase the negative thoughts away with.

So forget the past just not all of it.

Let Go, God’s Healing Wholeness

My heart’s desire is to see each and every  person healed, healthy and whole. Life is not always fair and every one at one time or another is going to go through health challenges. It’s easy for the healthy to encourage those who are sick. After all the healthy are not feeling the pain. For those who are sick the challenge can seem to be insurmountable. They are the ones that have the hurt. They feel the pain and at times they may question, am I going to recover from this illness? Those that are not feeling well need our love and support. They need Christian believers to encourage them with the Word of God. The Christians that get  healed in life are the ones who can push their minds to believe God for the healing that they desire. That’s a simple statement that can be a challenge to do when you are in severe pain. So lets get started digging the Word to see what we believers can do to get healed.

I recently read on a blog the chronicles of a person with a life threatening illness. Seeing this blog post caused me to remember the importance of God’s Healing Wholeness. The knowledge of God’s healing is invaluable to those who care to know.

I’ve written a couple of posts about believing and healing but none to the extent that will be shared on this post. As a starting point lets go to:

Psalm 107:25  He sent his Word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

The children of Israel listened to the Word of God via Moses and God protected and healed them. Even as Egypt went through the plagues Israel was protected by God. When God’s people left Egypt there was not one sick person among the 600000 men, which does not include the women and children who  also left with the men. (Exodus 12:37).  Wow do you believe that? That’s Amazing!

Psalm 105:  37He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.

There was not one feeble person among this humongous group of people. The people believed God, and the Word that Moses shared with them.  They left Egypt totally healthy. The Word is for your healing. For those of you who are sick, why don’t you get the Bible on CD and listen to it over and over again. Spend time reading it every day. Find verses that apply to your situation and confess them over and over again until you believe that what you are saying will come to pass. There are a number of verses on believing and healing here are some of those promises you can claim.

Mark 11:23-24 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.  24Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them

1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

3 John 2
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

Psalm 30:2 O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.

Philippians 4:6-7  Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

1 John 5: 14-15  And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Finding a promise you can claim is so vital to claiming the healing each one of us deserves. There are over 900 promises in God’s Word, the question is how many do you know.  If you know one verse that applies to your  healing need, and you believe it then God can heal you.

Here’s an example of my family believing God  to get healing and claiming  God’s promises. When my son was around five years old he was diagnosed with severe allergies and asthma. To hear him cough was perhaps the worst thing I ever had to listen to. The cough was very deep and hurt him tremendously. He was on a nebulizer every night before bed, and usually hacked and coughed through the night. As parents our hearts hurt to see our own flesh and blood having such a tough time just living day to day. We determined in our minds that we were going to win in this situation and see our son’s deliverance from this horrible situation. So we came up with a plan to see his healing come to pass.  We picked out verses that we claimed.  The first verse we claimed was Matthew 18:19. We needed to be like minded.

Matthew 18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

Next we found verses on healing that we claimed like 3John 2 and 1 Peter 2:24.

We constantly confessed these verses concerning our son and his healing. My wife set up a vision book. Which she has done whenever we believe for something. It’s important to see what your believing for in your mind, and a picture of the goal is a great way to keep the vision. It’s the believer version of the law of attraction (by the way the law of attraction is really God’s law of believing).  My son loves baseball and sports so a picture of him playing a sport was vital for us seeing him delivered. Each night we would pray for him and pour our hearts out to God. We would pray with our understanding and by Speaking in Tongues (perfect prayer). Some nights we would put some candles on and pray for an hour straight for deliverance.
It’s important also if your believing for something to do everything you can by your five sense to facilitate deliverance. Like if you’ve got stomach ulcers and severe indigestion, but your eating pizza, and foods that cause an acid stomach  because you think God will heal you anyway. Well let’s get serious. Could God heal you if you are  eating the wrong foods while believing to get healed? I suppose He could, but why would you do that to yourself since the foods you are eating will only aggravate the condition.  I believe that the aggravated condition would most likely take your focus away from believing and put it onto the condition. It makes sense to me that if you are believing for healing that you would do everything you could by the five sense to help yourself  believe.  You would want to eat the right foods and get the proper amount of rest. If you’re seeing a doctor you would want to follow what he prescribed to you until you are totally healed.  In our sons case we went to a Doctor who put him on natural diet that pinpointed part of the problem candida albicans.

We have utilized a system of health care that I think is pretty logical. We go to God first in our believing. Why not go to the source of healing first?  Then we have another believer minister to us by prayer. I’ve prayed for people and seen them get healed instantly just like when Jesus Christ walked the earth. Folks if God works it in your heart to minister to another believer then hustle on over and pray for that believer. If you have prayed and believed, and had a believer pray for you, and your not getting any better then go to a doctor and follow his instructions. Sometimes I have great believing when I’m not feeling well and I get healed quickly or instantly, either by working the Word or another praying for me. Other times I just need to go to the doctor! The thing with a doctor is you’ve got to believe God will heal you by following his directions.
Lets talk about ministering.  Jesus Christ said in:

John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Look Jesus said that those that believe on him can do the same works he did and greater works. Jesus Christ was the king of believing God, to minister unto others. It is unbelievable the number of people he healed.  The cool thing is we can do it to. So rise up in your believing an operate the manifestations of holy spirit that you received when you got born again.

Philippians 2:13  For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

It is vital that we God’s children believe this verse. We have the privilege to be God inside minded. The Bible says “that death and life are in the power of the tongue” Proverbs 18:21. So take a check up from the neck up. What are you confessing about your situation? If you believe what Philippians 2:13 says then confess what his Word says about your healing. Check your thought processes to make sure what you are saying from the heart lines up with what God says in his Word. The World likes to put people in condemnation God’s Word builds people up. It brings deliverance to those who are willing to believe it and confess it.
Another key in healing is to quit condemning yourself over things you may have done in the past. What is past, is past, forget about it. In my time I’ve done some stupid things. Things that I have regretted, but you know God’s Word says in Romans 8  ”There is therefore now no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus”. So forget the Past. Focus on God, and the future which has a path that is illuminated by the greatness of God’s Word.

1 John 3:21-22 21Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.22And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

Eliminate the fear and condemnation from you life. Make God’s Word your standard and have confidence toward Him and whatsoever you ask you will receive of Him because you keep his commandments and do them.

In conclusion God’s Word is greater than anything you will ever know. It is his answer for all of life, because it contains all things that pertain unto life and Godliness. God wants you and I delivered he wants you to cast all your care upon Him. He is the deliverer, he is the one that makes you whole, and heals you from life’s destruction.  God loves you with His Word. Now it’s up to you to love yourself by loving Him and His Word. Let Go and get  His healing wholeness.

Incidently my son has been totally healed for over 10 years now. In fact he very seldom gets sick.

I’m believing that this small little article will help you to attain the healing that you deserve from God. It’s only appropriate that I close this article out with perhaps my favorite Psalm on healing, but before I do, I ask that if this post in any way helps facilitate your healing that you let me know.  A comment on here or an email sure would bless me. I sure do love you.

Psalm 103

1Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. 2Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

 3Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

 4Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

5Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

6The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.

7He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.

8The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

9He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.

10He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

11For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.

12As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

13Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.

14For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.

15As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.

16For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.

 17But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children;

18To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.

19The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.

20Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.

21Bless ye the LORD, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.

22Bless the LORD, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the LORD, O my soul.

Believing in Gods Healing

This post I wrote a short time ago and thought it would bless and help other Christians to believe bigger.

The other night I sat in on a teaching on God’s love and found my life literally changed. The teacher spoke of a disabled model and athlete named Amy Mullins who refuses to consider herself disabled. She made a statement that “the disabled can be the architect of their identity.”  The teacher then asked a question. What is your a Identity?

John 13:34-35 (King James Version)

34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.  35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

God has given us Love in the gift of holy spirit.  Christian’s your identity is Love!

So last night my wife and I were inspired and went out to Barnes and Nobles to get coffee and share God’s love.  We picked out a table surrounded by some tables in close proximity and proceeded to talk of God’s Love. Soon we were involved in conversations with many of our neighbors.    As my wife and I were talking with this wonderful Christian lady a litlle old lady I’ll call her Theresa  came up and asked our friendly neighbor if she could sit at her table. Now our neighbor was actually studying for a history exam and could very easily have said no but she didn’t  she invited Theresa to sit at her table. Well at that point I departed to go look at books on website design. I also have a couple of blogs beside this site and I’m working on improving the look of those sites. Anyway when I got back my wife was gone.

Before I go any further let me share with you the great believing my wife has to be healed. Two weeks ago she came to me with a sore throat and asked me to pray for her. With believing I ministered to her and she got instantly healed. About three days later she came to me and said that she did something to her foot and asked me to pray for her. Again I prayed for her with the same results she got healed. About four days ago she came to me with a sore throat and requested that I pray for her. So I ministered healing to her again and she got healed again. The woman has great believing, and love which energizes that believing.

So I had returned to our table and wondered where my wife was. As I spent some time looking at Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 my wife suddenly appeared at our table with tears in her eyes.  I quickly inquired of her what was wrong. She said that she had spent some time talking to Theresa and found out that Theresa  has a brain tumor. My wife shared God’s Love with her and  told her she would pray for her. I shared with my wife that God can heal her, (healing a brain tumor is no harder for God than healing a sore throat) she agreed.  I encourage any of you christians who know the healing power of God to please pray for Theresa.

While we were discussing Theresa a very sweet tender hearted young girl named Megan sat next to us reading her bible. Soon we were talking to her and learned how she loves God and works with homeless people helping them to get  back on their feet. As we talked Theresa came over to my wife and gave her a book mark that blessed us with God’s love.  All in all it was a tremendous night together with the believing of all present being built up to a peak energized by God’s Love

End Acne A Simple Solution for Victory?

We’ve fought it for years those awful zits. We’ve tried everything, proactive, antibiotics, vinegar, clearasil, benzoyl peroxide  you name it  nothing seemed to work. These are all good products that work for many people why weren’t they working for us. An amazing revelation though these products mostly work on the surface it’s the interior that needs to be fixed. When asked we him to change his eating habits and eliminate the two or three boxes of cereal my son was eating in two days the zits started decreasing. Folks sometimes the interior needs to be flushed. Bread, wheat, potatoes and corn are all carbohydrates that cause acne. Eliminate the acids in your system work on making your system more alkaline.

When I first posted the above  information, it was after seeing a video on wheat, potatoes, corn and bread being responsible for causing acne. Of course there is more to acne than just eliminating these carbohydrates. Each individual could have a number different things that could affect their skin. Everybody is different in chemical make up and  physical function. So figuring out what is causing the acne is the key to eliminating it. Food allergies or candida abicans could play a major role in causing the dreaded zit.

I’ve come to the conclusion that acne is an internal problem that is curable by dietary changes. This is especially true if you’ve tried all the skin cleansers and benzoyl peroxide products on the market and still have pimples on your skin. I’ve purchased a couple of books on the topic and have gone about implementing the dietary suggestions in the books to help cure the acne.

The two books I purchased are Acne No More  and the other book I purchased is Eat Away Your Acne. Both of these books deal in  dietary ways to eliminate acne. Each book gives you information on foods to eat and things you can do to cleanse your system, and different supplements you can use to help facilitate the healing.  I’ve used the knowledge out of each book to help solve the problem. Acne No More will absolutely get rid of the acne however the dietary change is so severe that most people, especially teenagers will not want to make diet the sacrifice they will need to make to get the healing. Eat Away Your Acne has dietary changes in it that are major changes for most people however they are more palatable for a teenager. The 90/ 10 rule in the book gives the individual the opportunity to occasionally enjoy the foods that have been removed their diet. This book may be easier to get a teenager to do.
