Biblical Prosperity

I attended a prosperity breakfast today and found myself riveted to the Word of God on the subject of prosperity. God’s prosperity is totally different than what most of the world thinks it is. Our world teaches that it is how much stuff  you have. There’s a bumper sticker that has been around for a long time that says “Whoever has the Most Toys when He Dies Wins.”  God’s abundance isn’t stuff! His abundance goes much deeper than that.

Let’s take a look at his Word and see what it says about prosperity.

Luke6:38  Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

The rich know and operate this principle though they may not know this promise from God’s Word they will all tell you that giving is essential to having abundance. Check out Warren Buffett and Bill Gates and you will find they both are involved in charities and giving.  God gives to those who give, what you measure out shall be measured to you again..

Let me say there is nothing wrong with being rich!! David was rich, Solomon was rich Job was rich. The key to adundance from a biblical stand point is keeping God as your sufficiency. Many times people who get rich come to rely on their money. They quit on God and put the money first. God says in his Word in Proverbs 3 :5  Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. Relying on your money is leaning unto your own understanding. When we trust God we are making Him our sufficiency. We are saying God you are the one for me you are first in my life.

2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:When we love God and put him first he is able to make all grace abound toward us so that we are sufficient and we abound to every good work.

Grace is God’s divine unmerited favor. God says he will make all grace abound toward us. When we rely on God we are able to overcome even the most stressful situation, God makes us to Abound.

Truly God’s will for our lives is that we prosper! This is made plainly obvious in 3 John 2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.  This verse does not say that God wants us poor it says he want us to prosper and be in health. Truly God’s abundance is in more than just the category of money. You could have all the money in the world, but if you have a major sickness, to me you aren’t prosperous. Health is a major part of God prospering us.

God Wants Us To Prosper!!

During the teaching today the gentleman teaching shared a point that had everyone in the room talking!! He shared that when he believes for something he does not pray for the money. He visualizes the object he is praying for. Let’s say you need a car.  You need to see yourself in that car with all the features you desire. Get specific on what you want. Remember give and it shall be given unto you pressed down and shaken together shall men give unto your bosom.

I have a dear friend who  needed a car for the longest time. She prayed and believed and regularly gave to others in the fellowship. One day someone just gave her a car. Keep your eyes focused on God and believe in Him trust in Him with all your heart and God will always come through for you.

Matthew 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

It only takes believing  full persuasion to receive  prosperity from God. It’s trusting in Him. God is our supplier it is as simple as that.
