Teach Your Kids to Love to Work

Parents instruct your children to love to work. It’s a sad state of affairs when I look at the work ethic of most kids today. They have so been acclimatized to doing what they want by playing video games all day and watching TV that when they get out in the work force they don’t do anything more than the boss asks them.

I see this all the time at the different places of business I go to. I have worked with several different individuals who are exactly this way. One guy I know wants to get into the medical field but can’t handle the routine daily things he has been instructed to do over and over again. I sure wouldn’t want to be his patient. He’d probably forget something and zap me with some disease because he forgot to sterilize his equipment.

This is important to me and to you! Our children need to learn a love of work!

II Thessalonians 5:10-13  For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. 11For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.  12Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.

Biblically God wants people to work, it should be something we enjoy. If our children learn a good work ethic when they are young then when they get older they will have established good habit patterns that will reap benefits to them, their company and their family.
